for anyone (who cares) wants to get into Gintama but doesn't know what it is I wrote a summary of the plot and the main characters which took me like 1-2 hours!

Gintama (銀魂) which means "Silver Soul" is a Sci-fi , comedy , action Shōnen manga written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi. It was serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Shōnen Jump", then moved to "Jump Giga" and finally ended on the "Gintama App". The manga ended at 704 chapters. The anime ran for over 10 years and it ended at episode 367. The movie "Gintama The Final" served as the ending of the Gintama anime.

The Plot of Gintama
The story is set in the Edo, Japan when aliens known as "Amanto" which means "Sky People" or "Outer Space Aliens" have tooken over Japan and while Japan's samurai has risen to fight against these aliens, known as the "Joui Wars" the Shogun ends up surrendering to the Amanto they now control the Shogun and the Shogunate (将軍職) (Bakufu) . They have placed a ban on carrying swords in public ending the time of the Samurai. A man by the name of Gintoki Sakata is a freelancer and along with Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura they work in his own store "Yorozuya" (万事屋) which translates to "House of 10,000 businesses" which is often used to describe a business that handles a variety of tasks or Odd Jobs for payments. Hence is why they are called the "Odd Jobs Trio" The story follows these 3 as they do these wild tasks and often team up with Shinsengumi police force most notably the commander of the Shinsengumi, Isao Kondou , the vice chief, Hijikata Toushirou and the 1st division captain, Okita Sougo. They also encounter some of Gintoki's old allies, like Katsura Kotaro.

The characters
Gintoki Sakata (坂田 銀時) - The main character of the series. A man who is a samurai in a place where samurai are banned. He has a huge sweet tooth and is known for his natural wavy hair. Was known as the "White Devil" (白夜叉) (Shiroyasha) in the Joui wars due to his silver hair and his amazing capabilities as a swordsman which struck fear into the Amanto and made him respected amoung his comrades. He now works as the president of the Yorozuya along with Shinpachi and Kagura.

Shinpachi Shimura (志村 新八) - One of the main characters in the story. A teenager who joins Gintoki's freelancing business to learn the ways of the samurai and is a samurai in "training". He stays at his late father's dojo with his older sister Tae Shimura. He often criticizes Gintoki's and Kagura's behavior and is known as the "comic relief" character and he takes his role seriously. He is usually identified by his glasses and even when he isn't wearing them people such as Gintoki and Kagura would refer his glasses as "Shinpachi" while acting oblivious to the fact that isn't Shinpachi. He is also a major fan of Tsu Terakado also known as "Otsu-Chan" and is the president and founder of "Otsu's Imperial Guard". He refers Gintoki as "Gin-san".

Kagura (神楽) - One of the main characters in the series and is the female protagonist in the story. She is a young Amanto girl who belongs to the Yato Clan, one of the strongest and most bloodthirsty of the Amanto races. The Yato Clan have "translucent" skin which makes them highly sensitive to sunlight which is why Kagura always carries her umbrella all the time. Her umbrella is bullet proof and can fire bullets from the tip. She has a very huge appetite and she is known to be a "Mini Gintoki" said by Shinpachi himself as she commonly imitates his habits. From her genes as being from the Yato Clan she is extremely strong. She refers Gintoki as "Gin-chan".

Sadaharu (定春) - An inugami found by Kagura and is the Yorozuya's pet. He is usually seen chomping on things and Gintoki's and other people's heads. Kagura is usually riding him and Gintoki as well at some points.

Katsura Kotaro (桂 小太郎) - Gintoki's former ally during the Joui War. Even after the Amanto take over Japan, he continues to resist the Bakufu and leads a Joui faction. He is a wanted fugitive by the Bakufu because of his terrorist activities against them. He is constantly on the run from the Shinsengumi and is commonly seen with his pet, Elizabeth. He is often referred to as "Zura" by Gintoki and Kagura and his most popular phrase is "It's not (what he was called)! It's Katsura!" Whenever he was called something else than Katsura for example he mostly says "Zura janai, Katsura da!" (ヅラじゃない！桂だ!) which means "I'm not Zura! I'm Katsura!"

The Shinsengumi.
Isao Kondou (近藤 勲) - He is the commander of the Shinsengumi. While he is goofy, nonetheless he is kind-hearted and honorable and would not hesitate to sacrifice himself in order to protect the people. The members of the Shinsengumi are extremely loyal to him. He is often referred as "gorilla" by multiple characters throughout the series. He has a massive crush on Tae (Shinpachi's sister).

Hijikata Toshiro (土方 十四郎) - The vice chief of the Shinsengumi. He is known as a ruthless fighter, and being a strict leader. Earning the nickname, "Demon Vice-Chief" (鬼の副長). He is hot-tempered and often threatens his subordinates with seppuku. However he is quite compassionate and sensitive internally. Him and Gintoki usually butt heads with each other and he considers Gintoki as a rival. He is obsessed with mayonnaise and has earned the name, "Mayorā" (マヨラー). He is known the eat EVERYTHING with mayonnaise and carries objects shaped like mayonnaise such as his cigarette lighter.

Okita Sougo (沖田 総悟) - The 1st division captain of the Shinsengumi. He tends to be light-hearted and somewhat childish, though his speech is heavily deadpan. In comparison to Hijikata, Okita is very lazy when it comes to his job as he is often seen taking naps when he is supposed to work. He is also known as a sadist. Okita displays an annoyance and dislike of Hijikata, and continuously tries to heavily wound, embarrass, or even kill him whenever he has the chance in order to take his rank of vice-chief. He addresses Gintoki as "boss" or "Master Gin". He also butts heads with Kagura and considers her as a rival and refers to her as "China girl".

I think everyone here should realize some things.
Kat deals with a lot of things outside and online including this site which can deal a lot of stress. I genuinely can't imagine how much she has to deal with. I think we should all be mature, block someone if you don't like them. Don't bring drama onto here settle it privately somewhere else. Don't be rude. Respect people's boundaries ex don't block evade people can block whomever they want to. You don't owe anyone an explanation on why you have to block them. And if something deserves to be called out which isn't something like a petty grudge, then inform the mods / Kat.

This is all common sense yet some people here can't comprehend that. 😅
